Using Koala AI Writer for SEO
KoalaWriter AI is a powerful tool designed for SEO experts to optimize their content for search engines. Its algorithm is engineered to grasp keyword nuances and semantic relevance, seamlessly integrating them into the content.
The interface provides real-time SEO suggestions, guiding you on keyword density to avoid overstuffing. Key metrics such as readability score and content length are displayed to fine-tune articles for optimal SEO practices.
Before crafting an article, Koala AI prompts you to fill out a form, including article type, your target keywords, tone, language, and country.
You can also specify whether you want to edit the outline (highly recommended), frequently asked questions, real-time data, and insights.
Koala also allows you to manually add related keywords, which will be incorporated into the content. Additionally, you can automatically generate and include semantically related keywords in the content.
According to KoalaWriter, it analyzes top-ranking pages and extracts up to 100 semantically related keywords to be used in your future articles. This feature proves useful if you don’t use SEO tools or aren’t familiar with conducting proper keyword research. This balance enhances the likelihood of ranking higher on search engine results pages (SERP).
There are additional optional settings available. However, I advise you to check them as they can be very useful when creating optimized content.
Firstly, you can specify the URLs you want to link to within your content. This Koala feature is used to denote external links. For example, you can designate some links pointing to relevant resources to enhance the credibility of your article.
For internal links, Koala provides the Auto Internal Linking feature, where all you have to do is specify your domain name. Koala AI will automatically link to relevant pages on your website. Note that this is a premium feature available only in the Professional pricing package, priced from $49 per month and above.
Although Koala is powered by ChatGPT, its functionality goes beyond, allowing you to quickly generate optimized content based on your input data.
Incorporating Koala Writer AI into your SEO strategy can significantly streamline the content creation process. It enables the creation of quality, well-optimized content that serves both search engines and readers alike.
My experience from using Koala AI writer
Since January 2024, I’ve been actively using KoalaWriter to create content for my website and draft articles for clients.
I write SEO-related content for my clients. Whenever I ask KoalaWriter to generate an article about SEO, I always receive shallow responses. I can’t provide this content to my clients. That’s why I primarily use Koala AI to generate ideas.
However, it meets my needs as a website owner. I save a lot of time by delegating product reviews and general articles to Koala. I just need to polish the AI-generated content and add my exclusive in-depth insights.
Therefore, I only write 1–3 paragraphs instead of the entire article. It takes me a few hours instead of 8–10 hours.
I’ve utilized KoalaWriter to craft an AI review about KoalaWriter itself.
I understand that Koala can write perfectly about features, pros and cons, as well as other general content. However, it cannot add unique insights and personal opinions. That’s why I often manually incorporate them into each article. Ultimately, that’s what you, as a reader, desire.
While I use an automated drafting tool, I typically edit the draft according to my needs.
Koala generates drafts that you can either use as is or customize before creating content.
Once you’ve adjusted the outline to suit your needs, KoalaWriter will generate your article. It typically takes just a few seconds to get the final result.
Please note that you cannot edit the article within the application. You can download the HTML version of the page or simply copy the content and paste it elsewhere for editing.
Why Koala AI creates shorter articles than requested
You may notice that I’ve marked the word count on the screenshot above.
I intentionally did so to highlight a particular point about KoalaWriter that I observed after creating more than 10 articles using this app.
Here’s the deal.
Even when selecting the longest article option with 10–12 paragraphs and 2,350–2,940 words, Koala AI Writer still generates a shorter article.
In my experience, each generated article is consistently shorter by 500–1,000 words compared to the requirements.
It’s frustrating to pay for words but ultimately not getting the expected results.
So, I reached out to KoalaWriter’s AI support team to clarify the issue. Here’s an excerpt from my email:
“Even when I requested an article of 2,350-2,940 words in length, Koala still produced articles of only 1,000-1,300 words. I’ve written two articles with Koala, and that’s been the case. However, the system calculates as if I’ve used 5,600 words, which is not accurate.”
Fortunately, the Koala AI team responded quite promptly. In my case, they replied to my email on the next business day. Here’s what they said:
“It seems like you’ve used GPT-4 Turbo to generate your articles. Could you please double-check the article details?
Please note that GPT-4 Turbo uses over 2.5 times more words than GPT-3.5. Therefore, a 1,000-word article will use up to 2,500 words. We apologize for the confusion.
Regarding the word count, please remember that KoalaWriter limits the number of words by restricting the number of sections in the article. That’s why the number of sections is listed next to the word count in the dropdown list for Article Length.
For example: if you choose a longer Article Length but remove 5 sections from the outline using the Outline Editor, the word count of the article will not be 2,350-2,940 words anymore. Instead, it will only be 1,350-1,870 words. Therefore, if you want the article to be 2,350-2,940 words, please do not delete any sections from the outline. Instead, you can rename the sections.”
This email clarified my misunderstanding. I realized that KoalaWriter AI can be complex. Therefore, you should keep the following in mind when using KoalaWriter:
GPT-4 Turbo utilizes over 2.5 times more words than GPT-3.5. Consider using ChatGPT-4 (Legacy) or ChatGPT-3 to conserve credits.
Do not delete paragraphs from the suggested outline. Instead, rename them according to your needs.
