Voice of Nepal is the Nepali version of international TV singing reality show The Voice franchise, which was initiated by John de Mol(pioneer of The Voice). The first program of The Voice franchise was The Voice of Holland, aired on April 26, 2011. In Nepal, it is hosted by Sushil Nepal.
The Voice of Nepal Process/Format
At first digital audience is announced where participants send their voice in audio/video format. Shortlisted candidates are called for blind audition where each judge selects 16 candidates by pressing the I WANT YOU buzzer. The 16 candidates are divided into a pair consisting of 2 candidates i.e., 8 pairs. Then a pair of candidates from each team of coaches battle to be selected for next round. The coach has to choose one among the pair. Meanwhile, the coaches can also steal one singer from another coach. Then the knockout round starts, where 6 singers are eliminated among 9 from each group and the remaining 3 singers proceed to the live round. The elimination is based on voting. There is a grand-finale when 3 singers are left. Then 3 singers from each group compete in the elimination round and the remaining 4 singers battle in the grand-finale. Winner is announced and he/she gets the prizes mentioned. Runner ups are also awarded with gifts.
